Our clinical animal behaviourists provide pet behaviour counselling services for dogs, cats and parrots in and around the West Midlands, primarily through home visits and behaviour clinics. We also support parrot and cat caregivers virtually around the world. On veterinary referral, the animal behaviour experts at Second Nature Behaviour help pets and their owners better understand each other, using reward- and evidence-based techniques. Our clinical animal behaviourists provide expert advice and support with animal behaviour problems such as: aggression, phobias, overexcitability, compulsive disorders, age-related conditions and inappropriate elimination, destruction or vocalisations.

Mentoring in clinical animal behaviour
Second Nature Behaviour is also passionate about developing the next generation of Clinical Animal Behaviourists. We mentor pet behaviour students, who may be working towards industry recognised standards, such as independent CCAB accreditation. This allows our mentees to become fully qualified members of practitioner trade bodies, such as the Fellowship of Animal Behaviour Clinicians.
Not sure what to do about your pet’s behaviour problem?
When a beloved feathery or furry companion develops a behaviour problem, this can cause a lot of stress and difficulty for their devoted owner. Behaviour problems such as aggression in dogs can present serious safety risks for their owners, other people or dogs. You may be concerned about your dog showing signs of separation anxiety, such as barking or howling when left home alone. You may be a cat lover and want what’s best for your cats, but aren’t sure how to stop them from fighting. We empathise with the difficulties you experience with your pet’s behaviour. Our team of clinical animal behaviourists are here to support you using an empathic and tailored approach, advocating for evidence and reward-based techniques.
