One-to-one training

Our one-to-one training sessions are tailored to your individual needs, to suit your busy schedule wherever you require. This can be in the convenience of your own home, or on one of your local walks.

For the first session, we would spend about an hour and a half with you and your pet, working out what you both need - then we get started! A copy of a dog training manual and/or detailed notes where appropriate are included in the price. This has reference material for everything that we are likely to cover and more.

We charge either £65 or £85 for the first session, depending on where the session takes place. Subsequent 1-hour sessions are charged at either £45 or £65, respectively. Usually our clients choose to go for two or three sessions 2-4 weeks apart. These allow you both ample time to practise. Depending on what you (and particularly your pet!) are interested in, we can work on all kinds of activities and topics.

Puppy training

We teach you, your family and of course your puppy all the essential skills to develop a calm, friendly dog you can take anywhere. We come to you at your house to work with you and your puppy to set you up for life - all in your own home and on familiar walks. Private training is ideal for your busy lifestyle. Some of the topics we cover are:

  • Socialisation with other dogs, people and other species;
  • Adapting to everyday life in the modern world;
  • House training;
  • Jumping up;
  • Chewing;
  • Biting;
  • Teaching your puppy to cope on her/his own;
  • Basic obedience training;
  • Lead-work;
  • Recall.

Training niggles

If you need help cracking a particular training problem - perhaps a recall, jumping up or pulling on the lead - we can come to you house at a time that suits you. Then we can find out what you need help with and offer tailor-made solutions to suit your particular circumstances. The initial session takes about 1 ½ hours, allowing time to assess what you want, discuss methods and begin basic training. We have 'how-to' sheets to cover most eventualities.

Rescues settling-in

Sometimes rescue dogs come with behaviour problems, or you might just want advice about the best way to proceed with the newest member of your family. Often rescue dogs can be very well-behaved for the first month or so, but when they have their 'feet under the table' various problems can emerge. We can help you with problem prevention, basic training and dealing with specific issues. We can come to your house and help you out there and on your local walks. Again, the initial session takes about 1 ½ hours, allowing time to assess what you want, discuss methods and begin basic training. We have 'how-to' sheets to cover most eventualities.
