Supervised Pet Behaviour Consultations
Second Nature Behaviour is passionate about growing the next generation of pet behaviourists. So some of our pet behaviour consultations are led by budding behaviourists under the watchful eye of one of our senior behaviourists, Zoe Demery or Megn Richardson. This can be a simpler option for dog owners who would prefer a straightforward consultation, follow-up session, plus a report and 3 months’ remote support. One of the sessions will be virtual, while the other is in your home, or out on a local walk.
The pet behaviour consultation may be with one of our associate behaviourists, who have exemplary qualifications and skills, but are still gaining the experience necessary for independent CCAB accreditation. Alternatively, a pet behaviour consultation may be led by an advanced pet behaviour student. If a student is leading, then the senior behaviourist would also be present in your home, providing additional advice where necessary. Moreover, other students may be virtually sitting in via online video link. If one of our associate behaviourists are leading, then the senior behaviourist may not be present during the actual appointment, but she will oversee the associate’s work and consult with them during the course of the case.
The only other difference is that as this consultation would form part of the student’s learning process, it can sometimes take up to a month for you to receive the report. As always, your vet is likewise kept in the loop. This service costs £400 if you’re within 20 miles of our office. Note that not all cases are suitable for this service and are dependent upon student availability.
